Founded in 1989, the Michigan Housing Council (MHC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the financing, development, construction, management, and rehabilitation of affordable housing in Michigan. The MHC is comprised of owners, developers, managers, general contractors and subcontractors, architects, engineers, attorneys, financial groups, insurers, accountants, market analysts, tax credit syndicators, and other consultants, non-profits and businesses involved with Michigan’s affordable housing rental industry.
MHC and its governmental affairs firm, MHSA, LLC, work closely with the Michigan State Legislature, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, and the Office of the Governor to develop sound public policies on issues of importance to the affordable housing rental industry.
Membership includes professional policy advocacy, reduced fees for MHC-sponsored educational and networking events, and representation on committees of interest to your business or organization.
